Houston is a legit team this season and they’ve really improved on the defensive end. Kiel was the guy that hurt them last season and Moore, while more mobile, can also be turnover-prone. He faced two poor defenses so far in Purdue and Tennessee-Martin. Houston beat one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Baker Mayfield in the opener. Home field isn't worth as much in this spot because Houston is the much better team. The Cougars' starting QB and RB missed last week's 42-0 win over Lamar, but both are practicing and are fine for Thursday. Look for Houston to get out to a big lead against a very mediocre Cincinnati defense. Greg Ward Jr. has been given the green light for this game so H-Town will give the Bearcats a beat down. Houston by double digits.

The Bills were outstanding on defense last week, holding the Ravens to just one touchdown and two field goals, and they held the Jets to 17 points in both meetings last season. Also, the Jets feature a tremendous rush defense that should be able contain LeSean McCoy and I am not to worried about Tyrod Taylor lighting up the scoreboard. He only threw for one touchdown in two games last season against New York. These two teams scored a total of 39 points in both meetings last season, and I think this one has under written all over it, especially after what we saw from both teams in week one.

Got shut out tonight and here are my results.....

I am taking Baylor in this one. Rice did not look good at all last week, they had trouble offensively and they also struggled defensively. They allowed 348 yards on the ground last week, and Baylor has a deep running game so that is not a good match up for them at all. Also Baylor has to many threats at wide out and Rice doesn’t have the tools to contain the likes of KD Cannon and co. Also Baylor held a strong SMU offense to just 13 points last week and allowed conceded just seven points in week one, so I think they will be able to contain a quarterback in Stehling that does not have much experience. Meanwhile, Rice's defense has surrendered 77 points so far and figures to give up a lot more here in this intra-state match up.The powerhouse Baylor offense will be too much for Rice to handle in this one.

I am taking the Cardinals in this one. Deondre Francois will be making his first road start, and it will be against a strong defense and I think the Cardinals deep secondary will make things tough for the freshman QB. Also Lamar Jackson has been unstoppable in the air and on the ground, throwing for seven td’s and rushing for six, and I think he can crack the Florida State defense, as he is just too good, and I don’t think anyone can stop him. Ole Miss scored 34 points against Florida State on the road so I think Louisville can exceed that total at home.

7K (VEGAS SOURCE) RUTGERS -7.5 (EASY WINNER 28-37)

The Scarlet Knights are always a threat to score when Janarion Grant is on the field, and I’m expecting him to find the endzone at least once or twice in this one. The Lobos are coming off an incredibly demoralizing loss, so I they could come out deflated. New Mexico will also have the disadvantages of traveling 1,700 miles and dealing with a time change. Rutgers will have the home crowd’s energy behind them, and they should be able to handle the visiting Lobos. I like the Scarlet Knights to cover in this one.

The Idaho Vandals are outmatched in this one, and Washington State is going to be hungry for a win. The Vandals have really struggled against Pac-12 teams. Their only win came at home against Montana State by three points. Wazzu will dominate the line of scrimmage, and I expect them to win by 30 or more points.

Washington State is:

5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

San Diego State is tearing up opposing defenses and bringing home the victories with insane offensive numbers. With Northern Illinois out a starting QB and their defense susceptible to air attacks, I can’t see them being able to contain the Aztecs’ double threat offense with Chapman and Pumphrey both performing at the professional football level. I like San Diego State to dominate this match up. Take the Aztecs and their explosive offense with -10.5 points.

They’ll be on the road for the second straight week, and I don’t think they stand a chance against Georgia Southern. I like the Eagles to win this one by four touchdowns on Saturday.

3K OREGON +3 (PUSH 32-35)

This one is easily one of the most entertaining games of the weekend on paper. Oregon’s Blur offense will challenge the Cornhuskers’ defensive unit. Nebraska has a solid run game to work with and Armstrong Jr. is putting together solid numbers in the passing game. The question is can Nebraska keep up with Oregon in a fast paced contest? I don’t see it. Take the points and the Ducks in this one.

3K WISCONSIN -35.5 -105 (LOST)

It’s a big number, but I feel the Badgers can cover it. If they were going to have a letdown it would have been after the LSU game. They do have Michigan State on deck, but still their ground and pound style of play will have a very good showing vs this soft Panthers defense. Georgia State also has a soft offense which put up just 169 yards vs Air Force, who has a tough defense, but not like the one they will face today. I see a big 38+ point win here by a very determined Wisconsin team.

5K MICHIGAN -20.5 -102 (LOST 45-28)

I am going with the Wolverines in this contest. Jim Harbaugh has his team looking very dangerous and cohesive and I think they have too much talent in all areas that will make things difficult for Colorado. While Sefo Liufau is a solid QB, he is nothing that the deep Michigan defense can’t handle. Michigan’s defense was ranked 11th in the nation last year and it will be just as good again this season. While Colorado looked good last week it was against an extremely weak defensive team in Idaho State, and they will be facing a team on a whole different talent level this week. Michigan has a deep receiving core and Colorado’s pass defense is just average, and I think the Wolverines weapons at receiver will be the factor in this one.

5K ALABAMA -10.5 -101 (LOST 48-42)

Ole Miss has given Alabama a lot of trouble in recent years. For Ole Miss, QB Chad Kelly must play a clean, smart game that stresses ball security. The Rebels can match 'Bama's intensity in the trenches, but I doubt their O-line can keep Kelly from getting harassed. But when you look at the revenge factor, all the injuries and the defensive issues on the Rebels’ side, it should be a long day in Oxford for Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss. Saban will have his team ready emotionally and physically like never before. Look for a big game from RB Damien Harris as 'Bama rolls.
